As the government quietly cuts funding for endometriosis research, what's already a bleak situation for 6.5 million American women is far from getting better.

It got popular the way a lot of things do: celebrities and social media. There was Halsey on Instagram, posting, “For those of you who have followed this battle of mine...you know the extremes to which it can be mentally exhausting and physically painful....I’m in total agony right now.” Alexa Chung wrote about how much it “sucks.” Lena Dunham described it as something “eating me from the inside.” Julianne Hough hid the “emotional trauma” from loved ones.

Good thought; poor execution. Give us an article with sound research, Cosmo. We’ll be watching for it.

Oh hell no Cosmo.

So you changed the definition of endometriosis in the article without ANY indication. Did you throw us a bone? Do we not deserve a full re-do? retractcosmoendoarticle2020

You are apart of the problem. definitely not getting better with any promotion of abbvie. Orilissa suppresses symptoms, it does not fix our debilitating pain. Surgery is the only option to treat endometriosis. I’ve tried everything under the sun. 🖕🏻

We are proud to offer a drug-free solution that relieves PMS and endometriosis symptoms (YES. There's a difference.) If you want a natural and wearable pain management solution that doesn't require heat, electronics or pills .. ZIIVAA is for you! 💜 periodpositive endowarrior

You couldn't even get the correct definition of Endometriosis in there! It's where tissue SIMILAR to the lining of the womb is found on other parts of the body. It ISN'T the lining of the womb. There was no point you even going on after that. (1/2)

Why is your article so full of misinformation? It’s almost like you want millions of women and girls to continue to suffer and not get proper care. endometriosis

I run a worldwide support group and live in the UK. The majority of women who’ve killed them self due to endometriosis have been from America that I’ve seen.

A drug with dangerous side effects that does nothing to help prevent or slow the progression of endometriosis isn't progress. However, the mention of gold-standard excision specialists as the most effective form of treatment would have been helpful💛

I would love to see Nancy’s Nook as a guest editor in one of your issues with contributions from leading experts, foundations, champions and warriors in the endo community. nancynursez637 EndoWhat laraeparker BHustwaite EndometriosisAu kateboyce Drvidali CtrForEndoCare

Appreciate the effort to shed light on endo but disappointed this article was published without proper research. I hope our feedback is acknowledged and turned into a teachable moment that provides a new opportunity to correct the wrongs & spread awareness.

You are part of the problem right now!

Get the facts straight Why did you cut EndoWhat from the article? AND mislead your readers by omitting the funding secured by DOD, which ewarren worked on w Senator Hatch!?! WTF! I bet you're taking money from AbbVie, which is why you casually mention Orilissa.

this isn’t the first time you have dropped the ball when it comes to endometriosis! In the July 2017 issue you took a statistic that’s not factual from Gynecologic and Obstetric Investigation Study that said this (pictured) (Continued, 1 out of 3)

so much mis- and missing- information. Again.

ChelichanxD

Symptoms of endometriosis can include heavy, irregular, or painful periods, bowel or urinary problems, chronic pelvic pain, and infertility. There is no cure, treatment is lackluster, and getting diagnosed takes an average of 10 years.

definitely not getting better with any promotion of abbvie

I Am Extremely Here for This Clip of Harrison Ford Playing With a CGI DogMy first crush was Peter Pan, which has provided my therapist with a lot of fodder. My second crush was Harrison Ford, who captured my heart so immensely when I first saw Star Wars that I dressed up as Han Solo for no fewer than three Halloweens. It is, therefore, a mild mindfuck that Ford is now into the “old man bonds with dog” phase of his career, having moved past the “killing off his beloved characters in misguided reboots” phase, but for some reason I’m still digging it?
