A fun annual campus tradition, UTSA Underground takes place in the loading tunnels below several Main Campus buildings. This photo shows off a band performing at a past event.University of Texas at San AntonioUTSA Underground Music and Arts Festival, held in the tunnels beneath the university campus, returns on Thursday. The tradition will take place from 5 to 11 p.m.
The festival, free and open to the public, is organized entirely by student organization Musicians of Business. The organization creates projects aimed at creating hands-on learning experiences for students in music and entrepreneurship, university officials said in aThis year's festival draws heavily on the local alternative and electronic scenes, with bands and artists including DJ Kiki, Opaque Ghost, Lemon Disco and Lease Agreement.
"To be able to combine my art life and school life has been a blessing," UTSA senior and hip-hop artist Joey Flowers said in a statement."Being able to have both lives live in harmony. It's almost like I've talked to every past version of myself and now we're here."
