That generic description does fit in the plot, but it’s far from being its core. The more the story advances, the more twists and turns there are.

It is their relationship that has brought some curious fans who had perhaps forgotten about Seraph of the End back into the series. Yuu and Mika, as they’re more commonly addressed, are deuteragonists, and the bond that unites them only gets more supernatural every time. Some of their decisions are outrageous, but that’s exactly what makes the story interesting.
