Take a look at the home at 3375 Merrell Road in Dallas. If you love mid-century design and you covet original architectural details, take a look at this Dallas home built in 1961.
The house’s mid-century appeal is evident from the curbside view where you’ll notice the pitched roof that’s reminiscent of an A-frame. The home is located in the Sparkman Club Estates neighborhood in Northwest Dallas, near Marsh Lane and Walnut Hill Lane. Inside you’ll find numerous original architectural details that the homeowners have preserved. A floating staircase with woodwork on the railing has a built-in planter beneath. There’s a brick fireplace, another built-in planter and the home’s original bar, which was refinished and moved into the breakfast space during the homeowner’s renovations.
“Their goal was to keep that feel of it and not to remodel it and take away some of the charm of the home,” said Andy Clyce, the listing agent of Compass. The home is 2,697 square feet and has five bedrooms and three bathrooms. Three of the bedrooms are on the first floor, and the remaining two are on the second floor. The primary suite has a glass sliding door to the backyard, which Clyce said is hard to find in homes in the area.
