For various reasons, Amazon is not always the best option for its customers. As Friend pointed out, Amazon competes with some of its AWS customers in retail and movies and entertainment. When competing for large corporate customers, Microsoft has an advantage because it offers Azure customers bundled pricing and discounts on Office 365. And Friend says that Wasabi offers a nearly identical cloud storage service to the one AWS provides — at 20% of the price — a value proposition that appeals to industries that store large amounts of data.

Amazon Cancels 'Forever' After One SeasonAccording to Vulture, Amazon has canceled Forever, a wonderfully surrealist show about imperfect soulmates reconnecting in death, after just one season. I really enjoyed Forever (and wrote about it here), specifically for its secular meditations on what happens when we die and the seemingly unending sensation of grief, plus hedonistic ghosts and other ghoulish supernaturalism. Fred Armisen (Oscar) and Maya Rudolph (June) were wonderful as the show’s central couple. I’ll miss those characters, but I’m totally cool with Forever kicking the bucket after eight glorious episodes. Wait, you liked that garbage fire of an ending? After 'Andre and Sarah' proved they were incompatible? And after all the actual honest-to-God queerbating? And the shitting one-note acting from Armisen? Hello, Handmaids Tale
