Eight states, many of which have lagged the national average for vaccinations, have Covid-19 patients that account for at least 15% of their overall hospitalizations: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nevada and Texas, according to a CNN analysis of HHS data. Of all Covid-19 hospitalizations, these eight states' combined totals make up approximately 51% of patients, despite accounting for only around 24% of the nation's population, according to Census data.

"Of the nearly 1,500 now in a hospital for Covid-19, more than 1,300 are unvaccinated," the Mississippi Department of Health said on Thursday.

It’s pretty obvious why!
This is the MS vaccine breakdown. 93% of African Americans in MS supported Biden in the election. While the MS numbers are low overall, it isn’t just a Republican issue. Stop trying to make it about politics.
7 of the 8 in the South smh
Again...Minorities and the impoverished, particularly in the South, are scared of the vaccine because they think it will kill them. They don't trust their state government; and can you blame them.
Funny, that's kind of what my list of 'states I hope secede' looks like!
And half of those states are Welfare states, taking more money from the govt. than they contribute.
In South Carolina it is all of the visitors from the north … if they would stay home there would be no problem but they seem to want to escape their lives in the north and come south where it is wonderful.
Have we not learned that the virus is mobile and a month from now a completely different set of states will lead the list. Any point in time can be used politically which is your motivation.

So Obama's party didn't get anybody sick, why is it that government agency like the department of health is being used by the progressive left to only single out conservative States.
The South will fall again.
Not shocked by this. They all have idiot Governors that could care less of their peeps live or die. Glad to know they have your backs right? Not!
Ignorance and lack of education know no bounds.
Stats are a funny, easily manipulated kind of thing.
Home of the Q spreadnecks + Nevada
Is this not the states that are getting slammed by southern border immigrants?
This COVID thing. Something is not quite right about the science. We really don't know what's going on. Is this all about the unvaccinated? I don't think so.
So not a big problem right. This article says these 8 states Covid accounts for 15% of hospitalizations and that’s 51% of the countries Covid hospitalizations.
Conversely, we can think of this Covid as having spread to nearly 30% of people in less than two years.
California and Newyork are having more covid deaths than Texas and Florida despite strict mask mandates and lockdowns. More people recovered from covid in Texas and florida than California and Newyork because doctors refuse to prescribe medication in cali and newyork.
