for Quibi is a dream come true,” said Scott A. Stone, executive producer, in a statement. “I have been so lucky to be part of this defining millennial show, and now there is a defining millennial platform to go with it. I couldn’t be more excited.”
Although the reboot of the show will definitely be a shake-up, Stone promises it will feature “many of the favorite original elements of the show” — including the Moat Crossing, the Temple Run and the beloved Olmec. Perhaps the biggest twist slated for the new series is the fact that it will be adults competing. In the show’s original run, contestants were required to be between 11 and 14 years old.
But if you watched every single episode of the original series and always thought you’d dominate the jokers who actually got to compete, don’t get too cocky coming into the reboot. In addition to the grown-up players, the newwill feature more grown-up challenges. And, suffice it to say, you’ll probably have more to worry about than the occasional mysterious Mayan temple guard popping out.
