It was really annoying trying to saw into those slippery scallions. I ended up with unevenly cut scallion shreds—not ribbons—and a general feeling of deflation.
Was I doing something wrong? I Googled around and found that, actually, yes. I was trying to shred scallions by hand. It turns out
