The US could end up running on gasoline forever, leaving electric vehicles to China and Europe

Electric vehicles' sales growth worldwide has badly lagged predictions from 2010. In 2019, EV sales make up only about 2% of global sales. The failure of EVs to gain sales in the US reminds me of diesel-vehicle sales, which have also been meager. Europe runs on diesel, but Volkswagen's Dieselgate scandal could make EVs a bigger part of the market there.

The US won't forever have an administration that doesn't give an F about people's or the planet's health. Manufacturers that don't embrace EVs will be in a world of hurt as their products will no longer compete & even if they drag their feet, regulations could give them a nudge.

You say you want a better future for your children, then say your prefer a future with indefinite gas-burning transport. Make up your mind. EV adoption is going to be an S-curve. EV and battery prices will continue to fall and people will simply buy the vastly superior products.
