'I will never be able to dice onions like Giada, and that's okay'

Everyday Italian

, perfectly diced vegetables have become something of an obsession for me. Being able to wield a chef’s knife and dance it across a cutting board without losing a fingertip became my benchmark for successful home cookery. Yet the odds were already stacked against me—when it came to precision, I’d never been particularly rigorous about things like drawing straight lines, and my Costco collection of ceramic knives had long been lost to roommates past.

The small tub consists of three parts that take up hardly any kitchen real estate: a clear plastic base, a lid with a pull-string handle, and an interlocking piece that sits in between the two, with three flat stainless steel blades that each rotate as you yank the pull-string. Simply dump in your vegetables, roughly chopped just enough to fit.

The Pull Chop, with its ease of use and even easier cleanup, was my gateway drug to regular vegetable consumption as an adult. It’s also the gift I find myself giving to friends the most often, pressing it into their hands as I promise it’ll change their life.

When was the last time you saw Giada actually cook? Or much less... chop an onion.

This thing kinda sucks though?

I do not have this brand but I have a similar one and I love it and use it for everything.
