Jack Black pitches Bowser's Revenge as a sequel to The Super Mario Bros. Movie. The movie follows brothers Mario and Luigi, who are accidentally pulled into the Mushroom Kingdom and worlds beyond. While there, they are separated and fight to be reunited. While in this strange world, they meet a number of characters, including Princess Peach, Donkey Kong, and Bowser. Bowser is the fire-breathing king of the Koopas.

Black voices the villainous Bowser in The Super Mario Bros. Movie. During an exclusive interview with Screen Rant for The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Black reveals he hopes to continue Bowser's story. A sequel movie, assuming Mario beats Bowser, could instead focus on him seeking revenge after this unexpected defeat.

A Bowser's Revenge movie could delve deeper into what sparked Bowser's love for Princess Peach while also exploring his insecurities and vulnerabilities. Bowser is Mario's main antagonist throughout the games, and it seems unlikely he will be shelved after The Super Mario Bros. Movie. Bowser's Revenge could be the perfect way to further flesh out Bowser, his family, and his Kingdom while making him an even bigger threat to Mario, Princess Peach, and the entire Mushroom Kingdom.
