As COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations rise, what's in store for N.J.?

A health worker administers a dose of a Moderna COVID-19 vaccine during a vaccination clinic in Norristown, Pa., Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2021. Moderna on Thursday, April 28, 2022, asked U.S. regulators to authorize low doses of its COVID-19 vaccine for children younger than 6, a long-awaited move toward potentially opening shots for millions of tots by summer. It feels like yet another installment of pandemic limbo: One week, COVID-19 seems largely removed from everyday life.

If this week feels like the latter, your instincts aren’t so far off. There has indeed been a spike in infections of late, and the number of cases is likely even higher due to the access to home tests. Hospitalizations are also on the rise, though facilities are not overwhelmed. Many of the illnesses have been mild.

Why would you ever put this story behind a paywall?

Not as bad as your rag off a paper will try to make it out to be.

i have it now w/ 2 of my kids. we’re all vaxed & boosted to the level advised. like a mild flu for a day & then lingering cold for the next few days. 1 son has no symptoms but a + test. I credit the vaccines w making it a mild inconvenience and not a serious illness.
