After her career began in 1984, she appeared in small roles in projects like the 1985 cult film The Legend of Billie Jean, the series Tales from the Darkside and Brothers, and the Stephen King-directed Maximum Overdrive. Although she has held live-action roles after starting to play Lisa, including the films Jingle All the Way and City Slickers, she is still most widely known for playing Lisa.
It may be difficult to learn that the beloved actress had a tough time accepting her place on The Simpsons. However, fans of Smith's will likely be gratified to learn that she is now embracing her iconic role. Lisa is one of American pop culture's most iconic modern characters, and while Smith's legacy might not look like what she originally thought, it is certainly massive.
