The Santa Clause's Calvin Family Tree Explained

Not many would have predicted that, when The Santa Clause was released in 1994, Scott Calvin would still be entertaining viewers onscreen as Santa Claus nearly 30 years later — and that there would be so many more Calvins in the family. Released in 1994, The Santa Clause tells the story of Scott Calvin, a toy company executive and divorced father who is forced to become Santa Claus after causing the death of the old Santa.

Note: The Santa Clause 4 never happened, and a fourth film is very unlikely given the story now continues in the TV show. In The Santa Clause 2, which takes place eight years after the events of The Santa Clause, Laura and Neil have a six-year-old daughter together named Lucy. In The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause, it is revealed in Jack Frost's alternate universe that if Scott had never become Santa, Laura and Neil would've eventually gotten divorced. However, these events are reversed by the end of the film and Laura and Neil are married once again.

Dr. Neil Miller Played by Judge Reinhold Dr. Neil Miller is Laura Miller's second husband and father of their daughter, Lucy. Neil is a psychiatrist and doesn't initially get along with Laura's ex-husband, Scott, especially since he and Laura told Charlie that Santa Claus is "more of an idea" than an actual person. However, like Laura, he only feels this way because he stopped believing in Santa at a young age after he didn't get the toy he wanted for Christmas.

Throughout The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause, Carol is pregnant with her first child. She is also a teacher now at the North Pole. In Frost's alternate universe, Carol moved away and never met Scott Calvin, though these events are eventually reversed. Their son is born by the end of the film and is named after Carol's father, Bud.
