The fifth-generation Subaru WRX debuted this week bringing Crosstrek-like body styling and freshly honed power and performance. The model isn't Subaru's most popular, but it plays dual roles as a traditional passenger vehicle and rally racer.
Its exterior features design is meant to highlight the car's aggressive stance. Subaru's signature hexagonal grille is paired with a broad front hood scoop and prominent character lines across the car's body. Aerodynamics have been improved in the new model, which is designed to improve body sway and increase downforce.Each version of the WRX features a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine under the hood that delivers 271 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. Unlike most sedans on the market today, the 2022 WRX will be available with either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission that has an eight-speed manual mode.The grille on the WRX is shared with other Subaru models.
