Pardoning a turkey is a lot more feathers than fluff. Here's a look inside the most awkward tradition in American politics:

The turkeys join the other Trump pardons; Dwight Lincoln Hammond, Jr., Steven Dwight Hammond, Dinesh D'Souza, Jack Johnson, Lewis 'Scooter' Libby, Kristian Saucier, and my personal favourite, Joe Arpaio, I believe the turkeys would rather be eaten than stand with this bunch.

The trouble with 'traditions' is they ignore the passing of time, and sooner or later outlive their usefulness. This year the USA has the embarrassment of one turkey pardoning another, which doesn't do anyone any good.

Yeah but it makes rich old white guys feel better, so it must be good for America.

This year will be most awkward yet. Turkey rejected pardon and has been holed up in DC this holiday gobbling to Mueller.

Can't even bring the country together on Thanksgiving. Sad. He can't do anything appropriately...not even a simple turkey pardon. What a jerk.

Is Manafort banking on a presidential pardon after lying to Mueller?Paul Manafort has been accused of lying to the Special Counsel, potentially wasting his only shot at ever getting out of jail. Stephanie Ruhle discusses whether Manafort is banking on a presidential pardon and if this could rip the heart out of Bob Mueller’s investigation. Looks like it. No other reason to lie He's still on the hook for mounds of state charges. What good does a pardon do? I think Manafort and Trump coordinated their stories and Mueller has proof both stories are lies. This is an international criminal conspiracy to defraud the United States. BREAKING.
