The only Oscar 'Little Women' won was for costume design

It went home empty-handed.

I haven’t seen the entire film, but from the clips I heard, the script adaptation sounded slightly anachronistic and overloaded.

It collected the 'girl' award for prettiest dresses. It's insulting, but, better one Oscar than none. It should have won adapted screenplay.

Well, it is a story that has been told every 20 years or so. Costume was the only logical win.
