Employers are trying new ways to help anxious young employees stay calm and clear-headed as Generation Z reports anxiety at the highest rate of any generation

Stacey Snyder, a 25-year-old business analyst, says she suffers anxiety before making presentations or getting feedback. Then she second-guesses herself afterward, thinking, “I should have done this instead,” she says.

Many managers see social media as a major cause of Gen Z anxiety, and try to create a work environment free of the social comparisons and competition it breeds. As head of human resources at VaynerMedia, a global agency based in New York, Claude Silver dissuades young employees in one-on-one coaching sessions from comparing their career progress to others’.

Research on the anxiety-inducing process of uncovering medical errors at a hospital shows team leaders must choose their words carefully, Dr. Edmondson says. “If someone calls a problem a screw-up, that makes your brain say, ‘I’d better be quiet about it.’ But if it’s called an accident, you think, ‘How can we prevent it from happening again?’ ” she says.

My generation is anxious because we grew up on social media, haven't formed many deep meaningful relationships, and faced enormous academic and financial pressure from others. It's may be easy to call us snowflakes, but I think this issue needs to be dealt with empathetically.

Here's s couple of clues: Stop letting teachers and professors preach unproven claims that Global Warming will kill them in 12 years. Stop telling them our country was founded by despots, who got us here by oppressing the people!

Fire them?

You would be anxious to after spending 4 years in a drunken haze, waking up back in your parents house, pants on backwards, and $100,000 in debt.
