A great movie to accompany that series is The Right Stuff (which covers the era from breaking the sound barrier to early days of the space program). hollywood production. level of tech of us didnt suffcient in 60‘s to accomplish prestige step'bring back'. us still hasnt this tech. many discovery crash. they still in need of russian assistnce and using mır. Apollo 13 is one of my favorite movies of all time. Wonderfully done.
