The latest 'League of Legends' patch changes top lane, hopefully for the better

patch 10.5 is here, bringing a reasonable amount of balance changes to Riot Games' popular MOBA. Champions like Neekp and Lissandra that haven't been getting much love got much-needed buffs, while overtuned powerhouses like Ornn and Sett received minor nerfs. This update also brings Eternals to the game, allowing users to chronicle their accomplishments with each champion to show off to other players.

When the teleport summoner spell cooldown was increased, and hybrid-mages like Vladimir and the reworked Mordekaiser became popular, they were mostly relegated to the top lane. The elemental drakes were added at the start of Season 10, and top lane became even less important. Jungle pressure focusing on bot and mid lane to secure dragons became paramount to victory, with Rift Herald in the Baron pit being considered a secondary objective.
