– Expect another round of afternoon storms and high temperatures today. A heat advisory is scheduled from noon to 6:00 p.m. for Brantley, Coastal Camden, Coastal Glynn, Inland Camden, Inland Glynn, Northeastern Charlton, Pierce, and Wayne Counties. Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses, therefore drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
Temperatures are expected to top out in the mid-to-upper 90s across the region with the humidity staying in the 60-70% range. Light winds won’t help with relief. Sea breeze convergence this afternoon will help ignite thunderstorm activity, including gusty winds, lightning, and heavy downpours. Storms will taper off throughout the evening, and temperatures will drop into the mid 70s.
