Not even the members of the Jan. 6 committee, who widely agree that Trump’s efforts to subvert the 2020 election broke the law, have been able reach a consensus on whether to formally refer the former president to the Justice Department for prosecution.

Six weeks ago, the House Jan. 6 committee presented the American people with a tantalizing offer. Over the course of several public hearings, committee chairman Bennie Thompson promised, the panel would show evidence that former President Donald Trump was at the center of a “a sprawling, multi-step conspiracy aimed at overturning the presidential election” and remaining in power after his term ended.A year and a half after ahad stormed the U.S.

Specifically, Parker listed obstruction of an official proceeding, conspiracy to defraud the United States, seditious conspiracy and wire fraud among the federal crimes likely to have been committed by Trump and associates, based on what was known at that point. Yahoo News spoke with Parker ahead of this Thursday’s primetime hearing, which the select committee has indicated will be the last in this series. She said she thinks the select committee “has done an excellent job of surfacing evidence” linking Trump to the violence that unfolded at the Capitol on Jan. 6, but cautioned that this still may not be enough for an indictment.

Will failure to send the case to the Justice Department mean the committee has exonerated Trump? Isn't it the Justice Department's decision whether or not to prosecute?

Americans won’t allow it

🇭🇲 VOTE 1 FOR TRUMP 🇺🇲👍

A bunch of lies does not make for a compelling case. Besides, their goal is not to arrest anyone. Their goal is to flood the air waves with their narrative of lies, hoping the weak minded will soak it all up or Trumpers have second thoughts. Oh how terribly wrong they are!

If the committee can't decide, and the DOJ wants control whether to prosecute or not it's looking more & more like why bother voting. Am so tired of dems not doing anything just as much as I am of repub's stonewalling and holding country hostage. Getting tired of same ol sh*t.

to charge anyone with any crime, you have to go to the U.S. court system. Not The Woke's Hearsay, Projecting and Opinion or kangaroo court. 'something to the effect of'

If they widely agree that he broke the law, but cannot come to a consensus that he should be referred for prosecution, they are reaching a consensus that The Presidency is now above the law. I don’t care if you love Trump or hate him. If he broke the law, he should be charged.

Is it because the Jan 6th committee is a one sided biased dog & pony show?
