The Greatest Hits is in select theaters now.

Summary The Greatest Hits is a new movie from The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby writer and director Ned Benson. The premise of the movie is simple, yet relatable—a young woman discovers that listening to certain songs can literally take her back in time. The movie stars Lucy Boynton as the time-traveling Harriet, and also features David Corenswet and Justin H. Min in leading roles.

Screen Rant presents a clip from The Greatest Hits in time for the movie’s theatrical release. The clip details an early conversation between Boynton’s Harriet and Min’s David—although the pair have already met, the interaction appears to be the movie’s version of a meet-cute. Check out the clip and The Greatest Hits trailer, and see if the film is coming to a theater near you. The movie will also be available to stream on Hulu starting April 12.

The Greatest Hits’ Unique Love Triangle Explained Close Screen Rant’s The Greatest Hits review highlights the promise the idea of the movie holds, and a big part of that is the movie’s love triangle. When Harriet goes back in time through listening to music, it’s to visit her boyfriend Max, who tragically passed away in an accident. It’s as Harriet is struggling with her grief—and the question of if she can bring Max back—that she meets and begins to fall for David.

This novel spin on time travel movies gives The Greatest Hits an opportunity to do something new in how it explores the classic love triangle trope. Harriet is able to recognize the beginnings of a relationship with David while revisiting some of her best moments with Max. Given the depth of her connection with her late boyfriend, the mechanic sets up an even more emotionally effective battle between new and old love.

Even the best movie love triangles are often relatively straightforward, but in The Greatest Hits, the love triangle speaks to deeper questions about love, loss, and grief. In the movie’s trailer, Harriet says she feels like she’s cheating on Max by exploring a relationship with David, which is a natural expression of grief that can be mined to the fullest thanks to Harriet’s ability to travel back to her moments with Max.
