MaddowBlog: In reality, Big Tech is not out to get conservatives, and the fact that these ostensible lawmakers are focused more on conspiracy theories than governing is obviously problematic.

Or put another way, the parties are approaching the issue from profoundly different directions, but they've both expressed an interest in tackling new legislation that could, in theory, garner bipartisan backing, their competing motivations notwithstanding. Right off the bat, it's probably worth emphasizing that it's good to see House Republicans putting some ideas in writing. Their Big Tech policy agenda isn't overly detailed --

'Big tech is out of control': Trump announces lawsuit against Facebook, Twitter and GooglePresident Trump announced that he would be filing a class action lawsuit against the social media companies associated with Facebook, Twitter and Google over claims of violating First Amendment rights. The only thing motivating these suits is Trump’s desire to stay in the news, primarily so he can continue to do fundraising among his blindly loyal base. When he loses the suit, I hope the Court garnishes his presidential pension to pay the court costs. 🙄 Trying to go after the big fish to make some dough to pay off his mounting forthcoming debts.
