Frogner said we need to make sure we're taking actions and being thoughtful about wages as people are entering the workforce.

Senators are sworn in and will begin debate over the procedures for the impeachment trial of DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.FILE - A gender wage gap in health care has narrowed but remains in April 2024. That's the finding of research from UW Medicine, which found the wage gap between men and women exists across all sectors of health care , including entry-level positions. A gender wage gap in health care has narrowed but remains.

"Our study really focused on the health workforce across the board, multiple occupations, multiple education levels," Frogner said. "The wage gap has been closing over time with more representation. On the other end, though, as more men are entering some of our especially low-paid jobs that require less education, we're seeing some of those wage gaps worsen."

"Health care provides really good jobs for women across the educational spectrum in multiple settings with different kinds of titles," Frogner said. "However, we can't take for granted that just having more women, more representation in the workforce, just solves our problem of the wage gap."
