is a Deadline video series that aims to provide an antidote to headlines about industry uncertainty by swinging the conversation back to the creative ambitions, formative influences and inspirations of some of today’s great screen artists.

Every installment asks the same five questions. Today’s subject is Vince Marcello, the USC grad who became the rare feature director to capture the youthful zeitgeist at Netflix with two installments of, with a third shot in secret and coming next year. The series is one of the most re-watched films on the streaming service. Marcello began as a theater actor who began choreographing and directing stage productions and moved into indie films and TV.
