is a series I’ve found much more fun with a controller than a mouse and keyboard, and I’ve developed an attachment to couch gaming over the past few years — so I’d hoped I might get it to run on my recently acquired Steam Deck, which wouldthat the remake doesn’t support the Steam Deck, and my own experience backs that up.support level as unknown when I got my review key for the remake, and out of an abundance of optimism, I gave it a try.

Not entirely true. I have around 7 hrs of the game on my Steam Deck. Put the game in compatibility mode with Proton Experimental. It isn't perfect but it's very playable on the Deck.
I've got over 3 hours on it and I'm at the start of chapter three. All on Steam Deck. So I'm PRETTY sure you are wrong. Lol.

But I’ve been playing it all night on my Deck at a locked 30fps. Medium settings. Balanced FSR 2.0.
You have to install it on the SSD. It wont work off the SD card.
The reason is so obvious: Steam Deck is a failed product since day one like Steam Controller.
