TheBatman has made more in its opening day than Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins made in its 3-day opening weekend.

The Batman is projected to have the best opening weekend of 2022 so far after beating Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins' opening weekend in just one day. The newest entry in the canon of the DC Comics Caped Crusader stars Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/Batman and came to theaters March 4, 2022. The film follows Batman in his first few years as Gotham's premier deliverer of vigilante justice when a serial killer known as the Riddler starts wreaking havoc around town.

The Batman has arrived at a pivotal moment for the 2022 box office. Although there have been some wide releases scattered throughout the beginning of the year, there have been several weekends completely barren of new major movies. This is partially what allowed the box office juggernaut Spider-Man: No Way Home to continue its run at #1 more or less unabated .

The Batman is also performing competitively with pre-pandemic blockbusters, landing the sixth-best March opening weekend of all time. It's even set to premiere higher than DC's last big box office opener Joker, which nabbed $96.2 million in 2019. This take is even scraping rather close to box office juggernaut Spider-Man, which debuted at $121.9 million.

With a strong opening and largely positive reviews from critics and audiences alike, The Batman will certainly have a strong theatrical showing. Later in the year, it will face competition from a slate of Marvel movies including Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Thor: Love and Thunder, so its claim to the 2022 opening weekend title may eventually be toppled.

Are they taking into account the cost of movie tickets of being at least half of what they are now?

Yeah Batman Begins was Following up a Classic.....

SOMETHING IN THE WAY

Fuck you stfu bitch

Both are great movies

Different times. Nolan had to revive a franchise, and folks were not in a rush to get to it. Pandemic is still here, and movie watchers are ready to get to the theater.

Screenrant you are a snyder fan we know and here you are deliberately starting a non existent conversation.

It's honestly amazing that the last 3 solo Batman movies we got to see are: TDK, TDKR, and now this. 2 separate directors nailing it in their own ways. I don't even want to compare them.

God I love Twitter. One tweet stating a numerical fact and people find a way to dissect and argue over it.

Lol! You are comparing this to a movie that was released 17 years ago!

Good to know

We don't have much internet back then. Now we have tv spots for this one

Not hard to do considering they didn't promote Batman Begins and barely anybody wanted to see it. It picked up steam after that first weekend.

Christopher Nolan - you will always be the it girl of Hollywood 🔥 to the point you make article writers shove their head in their ass

It did better than the opening of the movie that followed batman and Robin? Not really a flex

Gee, i wonder if the price ticket doubling in cost since has anything to do with it. 🤔

Batman Begins came out close to two decades ago. Adjust by inflation.

Inflation

GFYS

🤝

And it should be said that AMCTheatres is charging more for The Batman than other movies this weekend.

but I will watch batman begins again, couldn't ever put myself through 3 hours of that again. wasn't my cup a tea never the less I hope it does well 👍

Batman Begins is partly responsible for The Batman’s success. It’s the spiritual Prequel of Reeves’ film and laid the groundwork and built up the audience for a mature, grounded and adult take on the mythos.

Too be fair, Christopher Nolan in a sense saved Batman. The last thing people remembered of Batman was that horrible (so bad, it’s good) Batman and Robin.

Lack of competition helps.

Don't worry, I'm waiting until I don't care whenever it happens to be on my TV

considering that the previous film was batman and robin and they had to convince people that this is was a better movie without the presence of youtube and social medias.thats quite a good money

Oh god, people are going to use this to clown on Bale's Batman. The market for CBMs is entirely different nowadays and The Batman has been in development and known about for way longer.

The film market was incredibly different in 2005, compared to today. Superhero films were still in their ascendency, leading to their peak. Plus, Batman Begins was the first film since the incredibly awful Batman & Robin, so audiences weren’t as excited for the film.

Lol... oh, you guys

And during a pandemic…

No need to fight If we have another great Batman adventure We should be happy about it Comparing them is not even an option since we know how big of an stepping stone it ended up being

Social media..

Not exactly a fair comparison, batman begins tanked at the box office, it was still an exception movie and in todays market would make three times as much

Ah yes, lets compare a gross from 2022 with one from 2005 without any context.

17 years of inflation effect
