As American League West counterparts, the Astros and Mariners play each other nearly 20 times a year, so it’s only natural that a bit of distaste eventually develops between the two teams.

Crawford rarely mention the Astros or their players by name, insteadThe bad blood became less subtle in July 2021 when tempers flared after Astros reliever Brooks Raley hit Crawford with a pitch. Raley had just blown an 11-8 eighth-inning lead by giving up a grand slam to Dylan Moore. He followed that by throwing three pitches inside before a fourth hit Crawford on the back of the shoulder.
