Five San Antonio City Councilmembers held a press conference Thursday to criticize what they believe is a lack of transparency on City Attorney Andy Segovia 's part.

"We didn't come to this decision lightly," Cabello-Havrda said, adding that Segovia's recent declination of their request to call an executive session to discuss the City's position in ongoing negotiations between the City and the San Antonio Professional Firefighters Association "tipped the scale.

"As City Attorney, I have an ethical duty to maintain the confidentiality of our executive sessions," Segovia said in a written statement Thursday afternoon. "Based on information that was relayed to me, I have no confidence that what is said there with respect to the collective bargaining agreement – the City’s second largest contract – will remain confidential."

"That's not what leaders do," Pelaez said. "What happened today is not leadership, it's something, but it's something gross.
