The Federal Highway Administration approved Texas’ $408 million plan to build a network of hundreds of electric vehicle charging locations across the state, starting with more than 50 along certain major highways.

“More and more Texans are choosing to go electric,” Allred said. “[The program] will create jobs and give folks more options as they travel across our state.”to be cautious in applying for and accepting funds from newly passed federal climate initiatives. According to CARandDRIVER, to get from HOU to ELP (753 mi), in [avg] EV at 75 mph (their test), you’d need 2x charges in fair weather, 3x charges in cold. Didn’t mention Texas’ 110 deg 6 mo long summers A/C mileage ...

Funny how that takes government to do but gas stations spring up from private money. Also, considering the evacuation ongoing in Florida, is there any way they can plan enough charging stations for many 10s of thousands of EVs on the same highway?

What about the capacity and reliability of the Texas grid?
