The clash at MacArthur, in a suburb northwest of Dallas, was not the result of a new law or policy, or a public pressure campaign at school board meetings. But the series of events has still left LGBTQ students feeling a new level of insecurity, and some teachers in need of a new job.
It all started with teachers posting small rainbow stickers — long a symbol of the gay pride movement — outside their classrooms to show students that they were LGBTQ allies. In August, the administration required that all the stickers come down, later explaining in a statement to NBC News that decorations in classrooms, hallways or offices must be “curriculum driven and neutral in viewpoint” to “ensure that all students feel safe regardless of background or identity.
“Ultimately, those same things that made us very strong supporters for the LGBTQ students are the things that got us pulled from school,” Stonecipher said of her case and another teacher who has also been removed.statement Rachel Stonecipher holds of a roll of rainbow heart stickers like those that teachers placed outside their classrooms at MacArthur High School.At emotional school board meetings, GSA members pleaded with the district to drop the prohibition on rainbow stickers. One student came out as bisexual while addressing the board, while another came out as transgender.
The chair of the school board, and the board trustee who made the motion to block the stickers, did not respond to requests for comment.

So, they claim to want an environment where everyone feels safe and included, but if making LGBTQ kids feel safe and included then it has to go? Because straight kids are threatened? By including the LGBTQ kids? Did I get that right? Bigots.
A sticker? Unsafe?
If symbols have no place in the classroom time to remove all of them. Ie crosses. If you can take one out you can take them all.
What is Gender fluid? They have so many made up terms who can keep up.
Rainbows, for the purposes of 'supporting' the alphabet people, have no place in education..
Why do gay people feel they have to tell everyone their gay and put stuff up that shows their gay? Just be gay and shut up like straight people, it’s as if they want special treatment and attention. I don’t care if you’re gay but don’t keep shoving it in my face
Leave gay people alone and concentrate on individual health care coverage per person for $100 a month.

If a battle over rainbow stickers has left them feeling unsafe then what would something really serious lead to
THIS is fascism. It’s been brewing for some time and is now openly practiced. But because they are evangelical Christians they see themselves righteous. So did the Nazis under Hitler.
If the teachers union allows it then okay.

So thugs are chasing down LGBTQ students in the hallway and this is being framed as a battle over stickers. The people in charge want to erase them, not the stickers. Oh yeah, and banning the school paper from writing about it shows the people in charge know it's wrong too.
Imagine being triggered by rainbow stickers
Why don't we Christians follow the golden rule of doing unto others us what we want done unto us? Let the students alone and let them decide as they grow older if what they wanted to be at 14 is the same at twenty-five.
