'We had no way of predicting what right-wing actors would do in response to this law becoming enforceable,' Planned Parenthood South Texas' president said.

The law prohibits doctors from performing an abortion once a fetal heartbeat can be detected. That's usually around six weeks into a pregnancy—when most women aren't even aware that they're pregnant yet.

Planned Parenthood South Texas, a regional affiliate of the national Planned Parenthood organization, has stopped providing legal abortions in three of its clinics in the San Antonio and the Rio Grande Valley area,Jeffrey Hons, the president and CEO of Planned Parenthood South Texas, told the publication that the decision to stop abortion care in his clinics was made before the law went into effect on September 1.

Some Planned Parenthood reproductive health clinics in Texas have stopped providing legal abortions since the state passed its stringent new anti-abortion law. Florida lawmaker introduces abortion bill similar to Texas lawA Republican lawmaker in Florida has proposed a bill that would prevent physicians from performing most abortions after around six weeks of pregnancy — before many women know they are pregnant. I ask this one simple question: how do most women that don't want to be pregnant not know within 6wks? That would probably also mean you could be spreading STDs and not know it. Have any number of infections and diseases and not know it to right? Hospitals in perennial BLUE Massachusetts have no Hospital beds CC BostonGlobe
