A San Antonio legal expert said in Texas it is legal to use whatever force necessary to stop an imminent threat, including a dog attack.
“In Texas we can protect our pets, our property, our children, ourselves from a vicious dog who appears to be reasonably attacking,” said Arredondo. Arredondo said even if the dog was initially restrained, but was able to free itself and attack, the dog owner can still be found at fault for the attack.
