A Texas county court judge who regularly presides over drunken driving cases was arrested over the weekend for allegedly driving while intoxicated.

John Lipscombe, a Travis County judge since 2011, was charged with driving while intoxicated after reportedly attempting to back his car into an already occupied parking spot at a hotel in North Austin on Saturday around 12:30 a.m., according to an arrest affidavit obtained by Fox 7 Austin.A witness at the scene allegedly got into a verbal altercation with Lipscombe over the incident before he drove around the hotel and parked in a handicapped spot.

Lipscombe told authorities that he"had a couple of drinks at his house but not even to get messy," including two double shots of rum and coke, but he refused to take a field sobriety test, citing a recent broken ankle, according to the affidavit. Lipscombe, who has been elected as the presiding judge of Travis County Court at Law No. 3 since 2011, oversees Class A and Class B misdemeanors. He was set to have more than two dozen defendants who face drunken driving charges appear before him next Tuesday, the outlet reported. It's unclear if Lipscombe will still be presiding over those cases.

However, they're still waiting on the Federal Aviation Administration's environmental review. Better off making a monorail in each state for the cost of one launch. Better off making a blimp company that lands at the monorail stations.
