On National Fentanyl Awareness Day, Governor Abbott used social media to warn Texans of the dangers of fentanyl.
In San Antonio nonprofit organizations and even city leaders said more resources were needed to fight the fentanyl crisis. One possible resource would be the city providing live data on fentanyl and overdose-related deaths and a map that would provide areas of the city that might be experiencing a spike.
“We take strategies to that community right away and we create awareness, we’re already doing that over the whole city but if you know the hotspots you’re able to do a live intervention for that community right away,” said Garza Moore.
