The Dallas-Fort Worth metro area’s growth works out to about 418 new people moving to the region every day for an entire year.

How many new people are calling Texas home? Newly released data from the U.S. Census Bureau puts it in context.Texas counties claimed eight of the top 10 spots for population growth last year. Harris County, which includes Houston, gained 53,000 people to lead the way nationally.in population gains, adding 152,598 people in the 12 months from July 2022 to July 2023. That works out to about 418 people moving to the region every day for an entire year.

Ellis County, which includes Waxahachie, Red Oak and Midlothian, also scored a spot in the top 10., Data Reporter. José Luis is a reporter on the data team.
