Abortions bans disproportionately impact low-income women and women of color.

But despite S.B. 8, Jones said she and her team will not stop working to help women.

This disproportionately impacts low-income women and women of color, who do not have the financial means to travel. “Roe v. Wade promised the right to abortion, but for Black women who have to rely on Medicaid or who don't have insurance coverage at all, and have to find money to get abortion services, that right has never been exercised, it's always had barriers to it,” Howell said.

And these barriers, according to Jones, take time to resolve and are part of the reason many women can’t get an abortion before six weeks gestation -- the restriction under S.B. 8.

Old men and women and religious people always talk the talk but never walk the walk Who is going to take care of a unwonted child the government the taxpayers so they all feel righteous I also wonder if they were forced to pay for that unwanted child what would they do and say.

Everyone pictured here was not aborted. 🤔

Forcing a women to have a baby she doesn’t want is not healthy for her or the poor baby that will get neglected. Babies deserve love & missing the mothers love will traumatized the baby. Some ppl should not have babies.

This is the stupidest thing to do. Let’s go backwards 50 years and next let’s get rid of the vote for women . We r the only country that wants to get rid of women’s rights. I’ve been a RN for 35 years and in 1988 I made $28/h now I make $30/ h . This sucks!!!

Hahahaha. Or don’t sleep around and let guys finish in you.

Can someone tell me how this article isn’t racist? I mean I believe in the right for woman to choose, but this story reads as if woman of color cannot protect themselves. Like wtf is this?

Allowing abortions disproportionately impact fetuses of low-income women and women of color.

Curiously, the 'right to life' doesn't carry an implied right to a life of any quality. The good 'Christians' who passed this bill won't care if the kids have healthcare, good education, enough food to eat, safe housing or equal employment/social justice opportunities.

So white women don't get abortions, this is used as a racist issue, not a health issue.

Here they go again. Black vs white. This is done on purpose. Wake up people!

Opinion | Here's how women in Texas can have safe abortions — legal or notThanks to medication abortion, people in Texas and elsewhere can have safe, self-managed abortions at home — legal or not. THINK I wish this was correct, but TX is about to ban this also!! THINK Texas is not so great when a virus has more right to reproduce than a woman... as a native Texan I feel ashamed and I was no part of the plebiscite who made this ridiculous decision. THINK Hang tight. They'll change it again to something else.

GOP-led states see Texas law as model to restrict abortionsSIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — Republican states that have passed increasingly tough abortion restrictions only to see them blocked by the federal courts have a new template in an unusually written Texas law that represents the most far-reaching curb on abortions in nearly half a century. This is a ridiculous law where a person without standing, which in any other legal situation would be dismissed by courts is being given protection by immoral judges in supreme court. Biden needs to dismiss all justices and close down court. Nothing in law that prohibits him. Operation Blitz. This is part of its long game, right? morgfair Now 12 states want to have Texas Laws on Women. Bounties on our heads. We have to do something now.

Texas Has Officially Banned Most AbortionsOn September 1, an unconscionably cruel abortion ban (S.B. 8) is set to go into effect in Texas. This law is part of a three-pronged strategy by Texas lawmakers in relentless pursuit of banning abortion: ban abortion at six weeks of pregnancy and incentivize anti-abortion vigilantes; ban the most common method of abortion after 15 weeks of pregnancy; and restrict medication abortion.
