Texas’ 6-week abortion ban law goes into effect after the Supreme Court fails to intervene

A controversial Texas law that bans most abortions after six weeks of pregnancy went into effect at midnight on Wednesday after the Supreme Court failed to issue a ruling on pending emergency requests from abortion providers, after Texas joined around a dozen states in signing into law abortion restrictions known as “heartbeat bills” in recent years.... [+]The law—one of the nation’s most restrictive—bans nearly all abortions before many people know they are pregnant.

Unlike other abortion restrictions, the Texas law authorizes private citizens to bring civil suits against abortion providers and anyone who facilitates an abortion in violation of the ban. The Supreme Court could still grant a request from abortion providers to halt the law but it is yet to comment on the issue.Around 85% to 90% of people who obtain abortions in the state are at least six weeks into their pregnancy,

Perhaps it’s time women formed an armed militia. Constitutional right to own ourselves. We are not to be enslaved and be told when and when we cannot have children. What’s next will they be auctioning them off to the highest bidder?

Texas Taliban has won.

People should definitely leave Texas.

How can we help the women of Texas? Who is organizing to cover their travel costs?

Supreme Court asked to block Texas' six-week abortion banGroup of abortion-rights advocates and providers file emergency request with the Supreme Court asking the justices to block implementation of a new Texas law that bans procedures as early as 6 weeks. I'm guessing that this 'law' is 100% illegal. Whether you are for or against abortion it is currently legal in all 50 states without a 6-week ban (correct me if I'm wrong) . FYI, I'm pro life but I obey our laws. When killing unborn babies what's the proper time frame? What next? A ban on contraception? These fools really want to get in a good spot in the line for The Rapture I guess!
