South Texans learn how snowball keepsakes from a freak 2004 storm don't have a snowball's chance in heck of surviving the freezer much longer.

EDINBURG, Texas—When the power goes out, the one item in her freezer that Loren Dykes races to save is a 15-year-old snowball. “I don’t know if it’s technically still called snow, but it’s something,” she said.
