Central Texas was along the path of totality, and we were in for a treat, even if it was just for a brief moment for some of us.Pretty much, anywhere you were in Central Texas today, the sky looked like a total eclipse, eclipsed by clouds.
"You're kinda struck by the enormity of it,” said Fredericksburg eclipse viewer Matthew Lozano. “At first, you feel really small because these big objects are happening in the sky, and then you feel kinda special afterward because you’re here and you get to witness it.” “We were on our way from Austin this morning, stopped here to get some coffee real quick, and then, yeah, just learned that it was canceled and not too happy about that,” said Jay Marshall, who traveled from Portland, Ore. specifically to watch the eclipse at the festival.Kids were able to watch the total eclipse together with their teachers, making it a memorable teaching moment.
Also in Austin, an event that promised to be as celestial as it was musical. Vampire Weekend performed at the Moody Amphitheater while the moon made its way over the sun.
