ZETA hopes to push the U.S. to 100% electric vehicles through national policy

, PG&E, and electric truck startup Lordstown Motors, are teaming up to form the Zero Emission Transportation Association, or ZETA -- a coalition that is aiming to have all light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles sold in the United States be 100% electric by 2030.

"I think our interest is a little different," said Britton."We have a goal to accelerate and reach this 2030 EV sales goal and I think we bring together this kind of squarely EV group to make progress on those goals." "One of our goals is to make sure that folks from all walks of life and all regions see EVs as serving their interests, whether that's a consumer interest, whether it's domestic manufacturing or job creation interest, or if it's about innovation and competition," said Britton."We think we can show that we're creating jobs in every congressional district in the country.

. Part of that includes helping the auto industry create one million new jobs by investing in domestic supply chains, auto infrastructure and charging stations."I think they share our interest certainly and even part of the strategy they've got is a commitment to put in place 500,000 public electric vehicle charging stations," said Britton."I think they share our interest in sending market signals that an accelerated transition to EV's is the right approach.

By when?

This is more wasteful than it has to be.

What BS, lol? Who will pay all this? Old Joe with the tax payer’s money?

elonmusk are you going to give me a car because as a single disabled Veteran I cant afford to convert over. My apartment complex doesnt even have chargers and the 1 charger that is close is over 20 mins away. 100% electric vehicles wont happen any time soon I guarantee it.

Aren't the few largest cargo ships responsible for more pollution than all cars in america? How about we do something about the giant polluters first, or it won't matter what we do with cars.

wow

Gee .......and where is all of power going to be produced from? Bird killing windmill farms or worthless solar panels? 🙄

It's a nice goal but when I saw Zeta I was thinking it was the drug cartel for a second.

Not going to happen in my lifetime.

Good.
