BERLIN - A German court on Sunday ordered Tesla Inc to stop clearing forest land near the capital Berlin to build its first European car and battery factory, a victory for local environmental activists.
The U.S. electric carmaker announced plans last November to build a Gigafactory in Gruenheide in the eastern state of Brandenburg. Planning permission has not yet been granted to build the Gigafactory, however, meaning U.S. entrepreneur Elon Musk’s company is preparing the ground at its own risk. Otherwise the clearance would have been completed before judges made a final decision on the complaint brought by a local environmentalist group called the Gruene Liga Brandenburg .
This is hysterical
GaryNTrader This reminds me very much of the great website angry people in local newspapers. It is great to see local anger knows no national boundaries.
But it’s ok for Germany to be opening coal fired power stations and new brown coal mines 🤔🙄
Tesla can stop. Daimler takes over...
These people can never afford to buy a Tesla in their lifetimes
🤓 The banner says: Tesla oder Trinkwasser ( drinking water)
Talk about not being able to see the forrest for the trees..
GaryNTrader I’m sure ElonMusk If consulted would have planted 10 times this amount of trees somewhere else ... carbon footprint offset !!!! Reposition 10 times as many trees to build a factory that will help climate change due to building electric cars ...
It's okay, build that factory over here.
Jessica song of PARASITE. Original song of Jessica song Dokdo is our(Korea)land Japs call Takeshima. Flash mob of Dokdo is our land at the front of Seoul station True history of Dokdo
Jesus Elon, wth
if you can't cut it down. burn them. loophole time
They should build their factories on top of trees so their workers can climb the trees?
йобаные леваки
In two days it should be ok.
So let me get this straight. We have to stop Big oil by making electric cars. But we can't create any factories to make those cars because of trees? Umm oooooook....
Then what...
What a waste of time and resources. The trees in question were part of a planted forest for lumber. They were going to be cut down anyway.
wait till they find Battery electrics do nothing for clean air too
Easy solution, invest in another country.
This is an example of how Germany and EU discriminate American companies! That area is tree farmed not natural forests, most of the region is cleared farmlands and right next to it is a brand new industrial complex Tesla should get the hell out and invest in another country
GuusvanLienen Wat ik totaal niet begrijp: oppervlakte ohne ende in dat deel van Duitsland en dan ga je 92 hectare bos kappen om een fabriek te bouwen. En dat in deze tijd.
So they want to cut 93 hectares of forest, in order to save the world?
As a German I have to say some of our people have fallen in love with losing...
I see exactly 7 protesters, so....
Merkkay4040 i can’t da stehen drei leute und demonstrieren
So stupid
The angry Germans
Greens want electric cars but can't cut down trees to do so. Eating themselves again.
Court has ordered a temporary stop of logging while waiting for statements by Tesla and the administrative authority, the definite decision (in the summary proceedings) about the logging will be made on Tuesday
So they can't cut down trees in a tree farm...
Maybe they could just plant some new ones somewhere?
This is standard in germany as they got environmental laws, not like in the US. But in the end, this is not gonna stop Tesla What they call forest is actually a tree plantation for paper production.
Nazis look angry like their cars.
please tell Tesla to come and build Gigafactory here in Tanzania....
No problem build in America problem solved
He looks nice.
