Ford sold more than half a million cars in the first quarter in the U.S., more than double Tesla’s world-wide total. If Tesla extended its first-quarter results for the next three quarters, the stock would trade at about 200 times this year’s adjusted earnings.
Tesla’s electric-car market share has eroded in established markets like Western Europe and the U.S. as larger car companies likeFord, and General Motors have finally gotten serious about the electric market. Tesla has lately been setting sales records in China, butRegulators in China and in the U.S. have recently scrutinized the company over issues like the safety of its driver-assistance software, which Tesla calls Full Self-Driving Capability.
Tesla ended the quarter with $17.1 billion in cash on its books, so it has the cushion to survive even severe blows to its business. And as bears have learned the hard way, nothing is impossible when it comes to Tesla’s stock price.Do Tesla’s earning results surprise you? Why or why not? Join the conversation below.Elon Musk
, who is scheduled to host Saturday Night Live this week, can remain a deft cryptocurrency day trader. U.S. safety regulators are probing crashes involving Teslas, suspecting the company’s Autopilot system might be involved. WSJ’s Robert Wall reports on how some motorists may mistakenly think Autopilot is a self-driving feature that doesn’t require their attention.

heard Thank you Bitcoin.
heard Who pays for this articles? Tesla invests as much as possible in R&D and new factories... That is priority at the moment...
heard Wow, really?
heard bitcoin and government money/coupons. They don’t make any money on cars
heard You expect WSJ to do better
heard Calling Musk a Crypto Day Trader Really? So this is the targeted hit pieces that ppl talk about, is WSJ now the new Business Insider?
heard Bitcoin
heard FFS 🤦🏾♂️ WSJ is supposed to be the real deal
heard . readers deserve better than what a deranged contemptible CGrantWSJ can dish out. Facts would help and he got this hit piece entirely wrong. This not only discredits him but the entire staff. tesla demand outstrips supply. New factories will help. Stop the FUD already.
heard And now Stellantis says they don't need any more credits from $TSLA
heard publishes articles, but not with the kind of journalism consumers deserve, similar to how this article distorts Tesla's data.
heard Funny. WSJ and some in the media write false stories about Tesla and the same media claim that $TSLA have had a bad week.

heard Stupid FUD creators. In a couple of years you will look back on this article in shame.
heard Made almost $108 mio in Q4 on Cryptos. And another $510 mio on trading carbon credits with other automakers. After this $610 mio windfall, they finally managed to get a Net Income of $430 mio. Else the Net Income would have been negative.
Their gross profit was only like 1.3 million for car sales. Am I reading this right? If these are their real profit numbers, how can they afford to buy so many BTC?
Regulatory credits was all the rest. It’s not a car nor battery company… it’s a hedge fund of scams.
Any journalism left ? Shame.
Lazy clickbait reporting
heard So that would kinda be like if the WSJ made 1/4 of their profits based on the revenue from their online subscriptions instead of actually selling papers. Oh wait...
😂😂😂
!!!!! لدي تعليق خاص حول ذلك🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔👀
PUMP AND DUMP BAYBEEEEE
Excluding one time stock based compensation Tesla made over 1 billion. Stock based compensation is non monetary hit, reg credits are cash dollars. SBCs will decline while reg credits will grow again this year. WSJ should read the whole earnings statement some time.
“essentially to prove liquidity” 🙄
So some bitcoin speculation is helping fund the transition to zero-emissions vehicles? Okay, cool.
Someone reeeally mad🤣, a company that can diversify and make profits from all angles is now a bad thing ?
