Police say the suspect was taking a gun apart and it went off striking 17-year-old, Alea Briones in the stomach.

SAN ANTONIO - A teenage girl is now dead after being shot in the stomach on San Antonio's West Side.

According to The San Antonio Police Department, the accident happened around midnight at the 11300 block of Woollcott Street. Detectives say witnesses were in the kitchen when the shooting happened inside a bedroom.
