By Michael Brice-Saddler Michael Brice-Saddler General Assignment Reporter Email Bio Follow March 5 at 7:49 PM An 18-year-old from Ohio who famously inoculated himself against his mother’s wishes in December says he attributes his mother’s anti-vaccine ideology to a single source: Facebook.
“I feel like if my mom didn’t interact with that information, and she wasn’t swayed by those arguments and stories, it could’ve potentially changed everything,” he said. “My entire family could’ve been vaccinated.” The Post has previously reported on the ways Facebook has served as a place of refuge for parents who reject facts on immunizations. The platform targeted advertisements and anti-vaccination materials aimed toward women in regions with high numbers of measles reports. This comes after pressure from lawmakers and professionals in the medical field about the spread of misinformation related to vaccines.
“It was really frustrating for me,” Lindenberger told The Post. “I knew if I were to continue arguing and push my stance, even if it was correct, I wouldn’t get anywhere.”
Let's hear Billy's take on this ....
And the lesson here is: don't get all your information from one source, whether it is Facebook, or The , or the burning bush saying you've got a collect call from Yahweh.

realDonaldTrump RepMarkMeadows Tensions are high regarding vaccines lately. Due to a measles outbreak in the United States, frightened people are pushing an agenda to take an important medical decision out of the hands of parents. They’re calling for federally mandated vaccines
realDonaldTrump Mr President, *ASSOC. OF PHYSICIANS & SURGEONS 'STRONGLY OPPOSES' MANDATORY VACCINES. Which prove the young man claiming other wise is a paid shill.
Antivax antivaxx Anti-vaccination is the logical equivalent to racial superiority, religious fundamentalism and everything else that only privileged people can get away with.
Good for you. Now save your sibs.
This kid should be arrested. Children shouldn't be allowed to have health care. Vote Evil. Vote Trumpbot 2020.

WhitfordBradley 'Don't believe everything you read on the internet.' Abe Lincoln
Facebook and other platforms being blamed for people just not being smart enough to do research on own is not the answer. Every individual has a duty to self to question sources and stop blaming others for what they believe and base important decisions on.
Disinformation & propaganda has metastasized on Facebook.
Big Pharma propaganda.
I love this MAN. He didn't DEFY anyone. He's 18, an adult. He waited till he was an ADULT and took control of his health. Hardly defying, smart and mature - YES.
Bill Clinton apologizes for Federal Experiment on Black Americans - Government secretly, knowingly, infecting and killing Americans. Freedom of choice is important.
Facebook isn't to blame. They can't fix incredibly stupid.
Who in the entire hell would rely on Facebook for information? It's like these people want to remain willfully stupid.
The epidemic of stupidity isn't sourced in Facebook but in people's mental passivity and refusal to engage critical thinking about what they read, hear, or watch. If people weren't so mentally lazy and would actually USE their brains, they wouldn't believe anti-vaxxer nonsense.
This kid is hired.
Counterpoint: Facebook converted those deadly lies into a big pile of cash they use to buy off shareholders and politicians all over the world.
Not false information. There are hundreds of peer reviewed studies showing that the aluminum hydroxide used in many vaccines causes brain damage. It’s anti science to claim that vaccines don’t cause brain damage.
To be fair Facebook didn’t generate those reports. So how about going to the sources?
And the push for more censorship and top down control continues

When you get medical information from a non medical source you will not be making informed decisions. Hold those legally responsible who dish out opinions on medical issues
Pathetic. Must be able to distinguish credible sources of information. Smh!
FACEBOOK WASNT EVEN AROUND 18 YEARS AGO WHEN SHE DIDNT VACCINATE HIM.
How is FB to blame for stupid people? She probably followed Jenny McCarthy. Hey try asking a doctor for medical advice.

Facebook is detrimental to our society.
The got the information from people on facebook, not facebook itself.
Intelligent people make very ignorant decisions. I guess it is human. But that could maim or kill a lot of children and vulnerable adults.
Facebook is the best place for medical advice 😂
Another sign that social media platforms ought to do something about misinformation. 🙄
Facebook should take some restricts to teens that they don't get information that is not good for them
Anyone who trusts Zuckerberg with their information, at this point, is asking for trouble...
