Forty-year-old Briles has been with the Razorbacks for the last three seasons. The Hogs finished 15nationally in total offense this last season and averaged 32.5 points per game, which is the most at Arkansas since the 2015 season. The school ranked seventh nationally in rushing offense with 3,075 yards, which was the most they’ve had since 2003.According to ESPN, Briles had chances to leave Arkansas in the last two years for other schools including Miami and Mississippi State but he stayed put.
TCU will be Briles’ sixth stint as an offensive coordinator. He was working alongside his father, Art Briles, at Baylor in several positions and was a finalist for Broyles Award in 2015 for top assistant coach in the country. Art Briles was fired before the 2016 season due to a sexual assault scandal that also led to the firing or resignation of the Baylor’s president and athletic director, according to ESPN.
The Razorbacks are expected to hire Dan Enos from Maryland to replace Briles. This would be Enos’ second time coaching at Arkansas. He oversaw their offensive from 2015-2017.
