But stronger winds are expected Friday and Saturday, along with sunny skies.

The howling winds that toppled big rigs and spread fires around Southern California on Wednesday, Nov. 16, are expected to diminish greatly on Thursday, the National Weather Service said.“But once you get into the afternoon, about half,” said Brandt Maxwell, a National Weather Service meteorologist.

The highest recorded gust in Orange County was 65 mph in Modjeska Canyon.

“The system is performing well,” Edison spokesman David Song said Wednesday afternoon. “If you’re talking about large impact, we’re not seeing that, but are ready to go.”
