Taliban say they have taken control of Panjshir province, the last holdout of anti-Taliban forces in the country and the only province the Taliban had not seized during their blitz across Afghanistan last month.

FILE - In this Aug. 25, 2021, file photo, armored vehicles are seen in Panjshir Valley, north of Kabul, Afghanistan. The Taliban said on Monday, Sept. 6, 2021, they have taken control of Panjshir province north of Kabul, the Afghan capital. The province was the last holdout of anti-Taliban forces in the country and the only province the Taliban had not seized during their sweep last month.

Meanwhile in northern Balkh province, at least four planes chartered to evacuate several hundred people seeking to escape the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan have been unable to leave the country for days, officials said Sunday, with conflicting accounts emerging about why the flights weren’t able to take off as pressure ramps up on the U.S. to help those left behind to leave.

The U.S. promised to continue working with the new Taliban rulers to get those who want to leave out, and the militants pledged to allow anyone with the proper legal documents to leave. There has been no statement from Saleh, Afghanistan’s former vice president who had declared himself the acting president after President Ashraf Ghani fled the country on Aug. 15 as the Taliban reached the gates of the capital. The Taliban subsequently entered the presidency building that day.

Surely it would have been cheaper just to sell a load of military equipment to the Taliban 20 years ago

You act like this is newsworthy. This is inevitable as is the inclusion of 🇦🇫 into the Belt road initiative with 🇨🇳.

Does this mean that McDonalds, Pepsi & KFC will not establish chains there?

Reality of US drone strikes.

Why isn't the US sending out drones to blow up our stolen military vehicles and other equipment? It would greatly humiliate these thugs and hamper their efforts to seek out potential victims, such as strong women and people who helped us.

Right now taliban has the most powerful weapons in the world and they are dangerous to the world it’s all because of Biden that he didn’t had a good plan to withdraw from Afghanistan.

good luck

USA lose yet another war. Mickey Mouse military in my book
