PESHAWAR, Pakistan - Afghan Taliban officials said on Saturday the killing of the brother of their leader in a bomb attack would not derail talks with the United States aimed at securing the withdrawal of U.S. troops after 18 years of war.

There was no claim of responsibility for the blast that came after both Taliban and U.S. officials have reported progress in talks on an agreement centered on a U.S. troop withdrawal from Afghanistan in exchange for a Taliban security guarantee. The militants have been fighting to expel foreign forces and set up an Islamic state since they were ousted in October 2001, weeks after the Sept. 11 attacks on the United States.

There are deep concerns among Afghan officials and U.S. national security aides about the talks led by U.S. special representative to Afghanistan, Zalmay Khalilzad, who updated Trump. The Taliban are also expected to make a commitment to open power-sharing talks with the U.S.-backed government and agree to a ceasefire.

Wipe out the Taliban fighters till the very last one because they are not to be trusted.

I’m pretty sure the only Taliban that are in negotiations are the ones good with the money. The us are knocking off all of the leaders who aren’t playing ball.

America and the Afghan Taliban appear closer to a dealAll that prevents a deal between America and the Taliban are “technical details”. But those details will be devilish No BlackApril for Afghanistan because any deal must include: Enforceable limits on use of force by unelected authoritarians; protections for women and elected government; continued supply to Afghan troops and national police, education for all. I hear Liam Fox is available. 😂 There can never be a deal between the US and the Taliban. Remember that the US is in Afghanistan to protect Pakistan from Taliban takeover to keep the Taliban out of Pakistan's nuclear arsenal. We are NOT at war with Afghanistan.
